Dr Regan Leslie
Principal Dentist & Owner
Originally from New Zealand, Dr Regan Leslie completed his dental degree at the University of Otago in 2009 before building over 15 years of experience across private practices in New Zealand and Australia, with postgraduate training completed across Australia, Europe, Asia, and the United Kingdom.
Dr Leslie holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry through the Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology and is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthodontics. He is also a formal mentor through the Implant Institute, training dentists across Australia in implant placement and complex rehabilitation.
His clinical focus spans dental implant rehabilitation, full-arch reconstruction, smile makeovers, TMJ treatment, sleep apnoea, and complex multidisciplinary treatment planning. He has placed over 1,000 implants and accepts self-referred and referred patients from throughout Queensland for complex implant assessments and full-arch rehabilitation planning.
Outside the clinic, Dr Leslie enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters on the Sunshine Coast and playing music.
Dr Pedja Bijelic
Dentist
Dr Pedja Bijelic graduated from the University of Otago in 2001 with Credit before spending three years as an Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial Registrar at Wellington Hospital in New Zealand, where he developed strong surgical skills across complex extractions and oral surgery procedures.
After transitioning into private practice, Dr Pedja built a broad general dentistry foundation with particular interests in smile design, CAD/CAM technology, implants, airway-centric orthodontics, and dentures. He moved to Australia in 2010 and has since completed a two-year residency in orthodontics while working towards a Graduate Diploma in the field.
Dr Pedja is committed to keeping patients fully informed and involved throughout their care, working at a pace that helps each person feel genuinely comfortable from the first appointment. He remains committed to ongoing professional development across implants and orthodontics to stay at the forefront of modern dental techniques.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family and is actively involved in his local church community.
Dr Richard Hamilton Johnston
Dentist
Born and raised in Brisbane, Dr Richard Johnston’s connection to dentistry goes back further than most. Before becoming a dentist, he spent years working as a Cosmetic Dental Technician in Brisbane’s leading laboratories alongside the city’s top specialist prosthodontists, building a technical foundation that informs every restoration he places today.
Richard then took an unexpected detour, serving in the Australian Defence Forces in Army Aviation before building a career as a commercial airline pilot across the United Kingdom and Australia. Returning to his first love, he completed his dental training and graduated in 2008.
With over 35 years of combined experience across the dental profession, Dr Johnston is one of only five dual-qualified Dentist/Technicians in Queensland. That rare combination of laboratory craft and clinical dentistry gives him a particularly considered eye for crowns, veneers, and complex restorative work.
Outside the clinic, Richard is married to Andrea and is a passionate cricket fan.
Dr Michelle Hwai-Mian Chew
Dentist
Dr Michelle Chew completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction at the University of Otago in 2017, where she was awarded the Craddock Prize in Complete Removable Prosthodontics, the Sir John Walsh Research Scholarship, and the University of Otago Scholarship in Dentistry.
She began her career in New Zealand before relocating to the Sunshine Coast, where she practises across Beerwah Dental. Dr Chew has a particular interest in combining function with aesthetics in restorative dentistry and works closely alongside Dr Leslie on more complex smile makeover and implant cases, bringing a strong academic grounding and an eye for detail to every case.
She completed her MBA at the University of Auckland in 2024 and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology through the Implant Institute, expected to complete in 2026.
Outside the clinic, Michelle enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new places with friends, and discovering everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
Dr Khadija Agil
Dentist
After graduating from dental school in 2015, Dr Khadija Agil spent two years working in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery before transitioning into general dental practice, bringing a considered surgical background to her everyday patient care.
Dr Agil has a particular interest in helping patients who feel nervous or anxious about dental visits, taking time at every appointment to explain each step clearly and work at a pace that suits the individual. She works closely alongside Dr Leslie and the wider Beerwah Dental team to deliver thorough, patient-centred general dentistry.
In 2023, she relocated to the Sunshine Coast, where she has become a valued part of the Beerwah Dental team. She has also completed additional training in facial aesthetics and sedation, further broadening her clinical scope.
Outside the clinic, Dr Agil is an active competitor in Hyrox and Paladin fitness events and embraces the outdoor lifestyle the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Dr Richard was extremely helpful, very calm and professional. He gave me a good list of options and was willing to talk through the benefits of each option at length. I haven't felt that at ease in a dentist surgery for many years. The staff at reception were very cheerful and pleasant to deal with.
